Politicization of the Dept. of Justice (DOJ)
Trump has taken away the traditional independence of the DOJ and made it into his personal legal organization. Consider the following:
The DOJ has subpoenaed Tim Walz, Minnesota governor, for not aiding Trump’s immigration crackdown.
The DOJ has been ordered not to prosecute Trump’s friends for corruption, for example Eric Adams former mayor of NYC and Gautan Adani, an Indian billionaire.
Units of the DOJ specializing in cryptocurrency (Trump made $1.4 billion in 2025 from cyrpto) and corruption by public officials have been gutted.
The DOJ has tried to investigate non-existent crime involving things that Trump is obsessed with: healthcare/benefits fraud, transgender care, diversity/equity/inclusion, election fraud.
The DOJ has gone after legitimate immigrants and people who protest the excesses of immigration agents.
All this politicization of the DOJ has caused DOJ lawyers to leave in droves. It has resulted in massive injustice.
